The semi-rigid seamless outer tube creates a perfect surface to eliminate the risk of RF leakage. Semi-rigid cables have a very smooth outer conductor path that does not contain the small periodic discontinuities found in other cable types from the braiding or foil wrapping process that can cause VSWR spikes. Aluminum jacketed semi-rigid cables and soft jacketed copper cables can be formed by hand if care is taken to maximize the bend radius of the cable.
